If you want to connect to the virtual training machine using the secure = (https) connection:
Launch your web browser (or in your R script)
Use url https://192.168.56.100:8443 for the secured connection=
Note: You will get a warning when connecting to 8443 because the SSL cer= tificate is self-signed.
On the warning screen, click =E2=80=9Cadvanced=E2=80=9D
Then click =E2=80=9Caccept risk and continue=E2=80=9D
This is secure because you are connecting over a local network, so there=
is no danger of external threats connecting to you.
If you are having problems connecting to an Opal Server over https, and =
are getting an error message like:Error in curl::curl_fetch_memor=
y(url, handle =3D handle) :
schannel: next InitializeSecuri=
tyContext failed: SEC_E_UNTRUSTED_ROOT (0x80090325) - The certificate chain=
was issued by an authority that is not trusted.
this can be resolved by changing the curl backend to openssl. This can b=
e done by calling the R functionSys.setenv(CURL_SSL_BACKEND =3D "open=
ssl")
or by adding the line CURL_SSL_BACKEND=3Dopenssl
=
to the =E2=80=9C.Renviron=E2=80=9D file in your R project.
