Session 1: Introduction to R tutorial

R is an established piece of open-source (free) analysis software that can run in cross platform (in Windows, Mac and Linux).  It is used across disciplines (environmental sciences, geography, ecology, medical statistics, statistics, social sciences) and is commonly taught in undergraduate degrees.  R has been tailored to handle a number of common file formats, data types and integration with propriety software.
